And I love Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, there\u2019s more than just Chicken Rice that you\u2019ll love in this country.\u00a0 \u00a0It&#8217;s the place for all salted-egg-flavored food, creamy chili food, curries, duck rice and the most affordable breakfast staple &#8211; the &#8220;economic beehoon&#8221;\u00a0 and lunch &#8211; the &#8220;economic rice&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s that delightfully exquisite common food &#8211; hence &#8220;economic&#8221; &#8211;\u00a0 of rice or beehoon layered with your choice of fish cakes and other dishes,\u00a0 soaked with the shop&#8217;s signature yellow curry sauce,\u00a0 topped with your preferred amount of &#8216;sambal&#8217; chili,\u00a0 wrapped in brown wax paper bound by a rubber band and carried in a small plastic bag, hence the &#8220;packet&#8221;, &#8220;tapao&#8221; or &#8220;takeaway&#8221; food.\u00a0 These were not introduced to me when I was a tourist.\u00a0 And it can be as cheap as S$3.50 for 1 meal.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I drool over anything wrapped in brown wax paper.\u00a0 Like the briyani rice with a quarter chicken leg or the falling-off-the-bone mutton with papadums.\u00a0 It always goes well with Teh Tarik.\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-186\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kengkay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/mutton-briyani-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kengkay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/mutton-briyani-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.kengkay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/mutton-briyani-768x574.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.kengkay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/mutton-briyani-1024x765.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.kengkay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/mutton-briyani-350x261.jpg 350w, https:\/\/www.kengkay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/mutton-briyani.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And where else can you get your &#8220;kopi&#8221;
